Georgia Gardner Gray (b. 1988 in New York) lives and works in Berlin. Recent solo exhibitions include Croy Nielsen, Vienna (2019), Kunsthalle Lingen (2018), Kunstverein in Hamburg and UKS, Oslo (both 2017). Group shows include Talinn Art Hall (2019), and Braunsfelder Family Collection, Cologne (2018). Her theatre plays have been performed at Volksbühne, Berlin (2018) and at Disappering Berlin organized by Schinkel Pavillon (2019). A monography was recently published by Kunsthalle Lingen / Mousse Publishing.

Georgia Gardner Gray's three new large scale works deal with ideas that transcend the scope of the physical world. Her subjects embody the cosmic, manic, cruel energy expressed en masse on social media; as well as the sublimity of proportion one might experience in relation to a powerful natural phenomena. She imagines worlds outside of the reach of our elite social rules: showing us those 'deplorables' who maintain dissenting beliefs. The figures are uninhibited, placed in a context of decadence and saccharine beauty.

Croy Nielsen
Located in Vienna since 2016, Croy Nielsen was founded by Oliver Croy and Henrikke Nielsen in Berlin, and the program grew out of the discourse that took place there. The artist roster includes Nina Beier, Marie Lund, Benoît Maire, Olga Balema, Georgia Gardner Gray, and more recently Sandra Mujinga. The gallery also represents the Estate of Albert Mertz, and Vienna-based artists include Elke Silvia Krystufek and Soshiro Matsubara.
